Anxiety and panic
The background hum, the sudden spike, the worry that arrives before the reason.
Solution focused hypnotherapy · Bristol
I’m Lucy Collins. I work with adults, teenagers and children from 9 — in person on Park Street, or online. Neuroaffirming, trauma informed, at your pace.
01 — Who I help
These are the concerns I work with most often. You don’t need a neat label for yours before you get in touch.
The background hum, the sudden spike, the worry that arrives before the reason.
Flat, heavy, or simply less interested in the things that used to matter.
A body that will not switch off — at night, in the gut, in the jaw.
The fear that has become a habit, or the habit that has become a way to cope.
A lifetime of feeling different, and the ways you learned to carry it.
02 — How it works
You come back to the same questions and find them changed. Here is what the sessions actually look like, from the first hour outward.
About 50 minutes, £75. We talk about what’s brought you, what you’d like to be different, and how the sessions work.
50 minutes to an hour, £75, online or in person. A weekly time slot is usually allocated, with some flexibility.
The first half is psychotherapy and tools. The second half is hypnotic trance, using NLP, visualisation and hypnosis techniques.
You take an audio away with you to listen to between sessions.
8–12 sessions on average, sometimes more, sometimes less. The tools are yours to keep using.
8–12
sessions on average. That is my guidance from experience, not a promise — some people need more, some less.
03 — About Lucy
I’m Lucy Collins, a solution focused, trauma informed hypnotherapist and psychotherapist. I work from Vessel Spaces on Park Street in Bristol, and online.
I’m neurodivergent, and I’ve lived with anxiety for much of my life. That isn’t a qualification — it’s the reason I listen the way I do. A large proportion of the people I work with identify as neurodivergent, and I keep the individual’s needs at the centre of the work.
I trained as a musical theatre performer, and I work with performance anxiety, public speaking, singing and confident expression. I’m also a trained yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner, with experience in schools and inpatient units with neurodiverse children.
I work with adults, teenagers and children from 9. Sessions are structured but not rigid: we go at a pace that suits you, and I explain what I’m doing and why.

04 — Children and teenagers
I work with children and teenagers, including neurodiverse children, with experience in schools and inpatient units. Sessions are adapted to the young person in the room.
Online sessions work well for a lot of young people, and in person is there too. I hold an Advanced DBS certificate.

I started hypnotherapy with Lucy to help with my low mood, self esteem and general anxiety & depression. As a 44 year old neuro divergent man who has struggled all my life with mental health issues it was life changing to be able to understand myself and to have this new vocabulary, an understanding of how my brain works, new tools to help me understand how to work best and to navigate my life more smoothly and successfully. Absolutely recommend - thanks Lucy.
I have had a severe fear of heights for as long as I can remember, at times it would cause panic attacks. As preparation for a planned ascent of an active volcano with friends, I contacted Lucy Collins to arrange a series of sessions to see if I could be helped… the sessions were extremely helpful, my concerns were unfounded and I summited the volcano at the same time as the rest of the group with no worries at all. Thank you Lucy Collins!
My 11 year old son had hypnotherapy sessions with Lucy and she instantly put him at ease… Lucy’s sessions really boosted his confidence and reduced his anxiety… I really recommend Lucy!
Lucy has a wonderful way of balancing her professional skills with a sensitive humour and kindness that makes you feel at ease in the sessions…

07 — FAQ
If yours isn’t here, ask me directly. The first call is free and fifteen minutes.
Ask a questionPeople describe it differently. It’s a relaxed, focused state — you stay aware of the room and can hear me throughout. Some people notice their thoughts drifting; that’s normal, and we can talk about it afterwards.
No. You’re not asleep, and you can’t be made to do anything you don’t want to. You can open your eyes and stop at any point.
8–12 sessions on average, though some people need more and some less. We review how it’s going as we go, and nothing is fixed in advance.
No. I don’t fix anyone. I explain how anxiety tends to work, teach tools you can use, and guide the trance work. The change comes from what you do between sessions as much as from the hour itself.
Both. I work from Vessel Spaces on Park Street in Bristol, and online. Online works well for adults and for a lot of young people; you’ll need somewhere quiet where you won’t be disturbed.
